Which leads to the absolutely retarded game design scenario in which it's a newbie trap to pick the actual skills you want to use in your playthrough as your major skills and should instead build a retarded character that makes no sense at first glanceīecause if you want to play as an alchemist, or picked something like acrobatics as a major skill (which levels as you run and jump) your character will gain levels rapidly as you just move around doing dumb shit and every single enemy in the game will scale with you doing end game tier damage and having end game tier health pools while you're a high level character with early game combat stats.

Oblivion has level scaling for enemies/items to keep "everything level appropriate and interesting"īut it also had skills/attributes that gained level as you used them, and if I'm remembering correctly you only gained XP for your actual levels when you leveled up your major skills and not your minor ones
